(ダミー)反転理論における動機付けスタイル-TelicモードとParatelicモードの対比について- The effect of depressive mood on face recognition and cognitive processing in response to facial expression in non-clinical individuals. Abstract This research investigated whether depressive mood affects on face recognition and cognitive processing in response to facial expression in non-clinical subjects, using facial expression pictures(neutral, happy, angry, sad, disgust, fear). Undergraduate students were screened by BDI, and divided into two groups (high-depressive subjects; HD and low-depressive subjects; LD). Face recognition task was used to investigate accuracy of face recognition, and a questionnaire(10 items) was used to investigate cognitive processing in response to facial expression. The questionnaire was consisted of 10 items(judgment of self-emotion, meta-emotion, behavioral response, meta-cognition, and recall of past memory. The results of this experiment were as follows 1) The HD could judge facial expression as accurately as the LD. 2) In self-emotion judgment, the HD tended to be more depressive than the LD as for the item of being depressive, and answered being happy(self-judgment) in response to fear facial stimuli, whereas the LD answered being happy to happy facial stimuli. 3) The HD recalled more past memories than the LD. 4) There were no difference as for being tensed and being annoyed (self-judgment), meta-emotion, emotional behavior, and meta-cognition. The result suggests that depressive mood did not affect on judgment of emotional faces in non-clinical individuals, but that the HD responded less adequately to negative emotional stimuli(fear) and recalled more past memories. Key words face recognition, cognitive processing, depressive mood, non-clinical individuals. 要旨 本研究では、抑うつ気分が、表情判断と表情に反応して生起する認知処理過程に影響を与えるかどうかを、表情の写真(真顔、笑った顔、怒った顔、悲しい顔、嫌悪の顔、恐れた顔)を用いて検討した。BDIによりスクリーニングした非臨床群を高抑うつ気分傾向群(HD)と低抑うつ気分傾向群(LD)に分けた。他者の表情認知は表情判断課題により、表情に反応して生起する認知処理過程は質問紙によりそれぞれ測定した。質問紙の質問項目は10項目からなり、自己感情判断、メタ感情、感情の行動準備、メタ認知、および過去の記憶の再生であった。実験の結果は以下の通りであった。1)非臨床群における抑うつ気分の高低で表情判断の正確さに差は認められなかった。2)自己感情判断項目の「憂うつになった」では、HD群の方がより憂うつなったと答える傾向がみられた。また、「楽しくなった」では、LD群は笑った顔に対して肯定的に答えたが、HD群は恐れた顔に肯定的に答えた。3)HD群の方が顔刺激から過去の経験をより多く思い出した。4)自己感情判断のうち緊張と易刺激性、メタ感情、行動準備、メタ認知について差は認められなかった。本研究の結果から、抑うつ気分は顔表情判断には影響を及ぼさないが、自己感情判断において否定的情動表情(恐れ)に不適切な反応をし、また過去の記憶をより多く思い出していることが示唆される。 キーワード:表情判断、認知的処理過程、抑うつ気分、非臨床群.

The Formation of New Identities Among Japanese Brazilians Participants in YOSAKOI SORAN, a Japanese Popular Dance Performance Tamaki Watarai To discuss the complexity and diversity of Nikkeijin (I use this term to refer to people of Japanese ancestry living outside of Japan)identities in the world at this panel, I would like to take up the topic of Japanese Brazilians participation in a creative dance performance, called YOSAKOI SORAN, through which they seek to express their identities. It has been observed that they are trying to make their choreographies hybrid by incorporating various cultural elements, and thereby express their sense of being themselves. And more, they invite enthusiastically Brazilians who have no Japanese descent to the dance. Here, I would like to address the question of what hybridity, an element of great importance in YOSAKOI SORAN, means to Japanese Brazilians, especially in terms of their identity in a multi-ethnic country. From my interviews with participants and observations on their performances, I conclude that Japanese Brazilian participants see YOSAKOI SORAN as a tool to unite people of different cultural and ethnic backgrounds, and that this dynamic relationship with diverse people helps each of them form his or her identity in Brazil. My findings suggest that for Japanese Brazilians, especially the younger generation, their identity is different from collective identity we tend to use in our speeches or writings such as "Japanese Brazilians identity", "identidade japonesa", "Nikkeijin identity" or "Nikkei identity". However, their identity is a way to question or to see the dynamism of their relationship with people of different cultural and ethnic backgrounds in Brazil. Watarai profile

"Nikkei-jin" and "Nihon-jin" The Case of San Francisco Yoko Tsukuda Ph.D. Student, Department of Area Studies, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, The University of Tokyo Rather than ask “who are Nikkei-jin,” this presentation examines how the term “Nikkei-jin” is used – whom it references, and who uses it. Based on the case of a Japanese American community in San Francisco, I discuss the particular social and political conditions that suppose “the Nikkei-jin” and the boundary that distinguishes “self” from “other.” From 2000 to 2004, I conducted fieldwork in San Francisco’s Japantown, one of the oldest Japanese American communities in the United States. In particular, I focused on the relationship between “Nikkei-jin” and “Nihon-jin” there. In my study, I used the term “Nikkei-jin” to refer to the early Japanese immigrants’ descendants, who speak English as their primary language, such as Nisei and Sansei. On the other hand, “Nihon-jin” meant those who speak Japanese as their primary language, including postwar Japanese immigrants, called shin-issei, and business expatriates and students. I differentiated these two groups based on primary language used rather than birthplace or nationality. In my graduate thesis written in English, “Nikkei-jin” corresponds to “English-speaking Nikkei” and “Nihon-jin” to “Japanese-speaking Nikkei.” The case of San Francisco suggests the importance of considering the politics behind the boundary construction around “Nikkeijin” - when people refer to themselves or to others in this way. When do “Nihon-jin” become “Nikkei-jin”? This is an important question to consider as the transnational movement of people becomes more frequent and makes for a more complicated contemporary world.
